Privacy Policy & terms and conditions

Privacy Policy

Study Hub Designs ("Study Hub", "we", "us")
Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, buy from our shop, or contact us, and what we do with it. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Study Hub is run by [your full name or registered company name], trading as Study Hub Designs. We are the "controller" of your personal information, which means we decide how and why it is used.

  • Email for any privacy question or request: atudyhubdesigns@gmail.com
  • Website: studyhub24.co.uk

2. What information we collect, why we use it, and our lawful basis

The law says we must have a "lawful basis" for using your information. Here is what we collect and why.

1. Order details

  • What we collect: your name, email address, billing country and what you bought
  • Why we use it: To take your order, deliver your download link, send your order confirmation and give you support
  • Lawful basis: Contract (we need it to fulfil your order)

2. Payment information

  • What we collect: your payment details, which are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number
  • Why we use it: To take payment and prevent fraud
  • Lawful basis: Contract

3. Payment and order records

  • What we collect: records of your payments and orders, such as dates, amounts and order numbers
  • Why we use it: To keep accounts, handle tax and respond to refund or payment queries
  • Lawful basis: Legal obligation

4. Messages you send us

  • What we collect: your name, email and what you tell us
  • Why we use it: To answer your question or resolve a problem
  • Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (to respond to people who contact us)

5. Email sign-up details

  • What we collect: your name (if you give it) and email address
  • Why we use it: To send you your free sample and, if you agree, revision tips and news of new products
  • Lawful basis: Consent

6. Marketing emails to existing customers

  • What we collect: your email address and what you have bought from us
  • Why we use it: To tell customers about similar Study Hub products. You can opt out in every email
  • Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (using the "soft opt-in" rules for existing customers)

7. Reviews or testimonials you choose to give us

  • What we collect: any review, testimonial or feedback you choose to give us, and your name if you allow us to show it
  • Why we use it: To show feedback on our website and social channels
  • Lawful basis: Consent

8. Website and device data

  • What we collect: IP address, browser, pages visited, cookies
  • Why we use it: To keep our website secure and working, and, only if you agree, to understand how it is used
  • Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (security and basic operation); consent for non-essential cookies

9. Records of consent and unsubscribes

  • What we collect: a record of when and how you agreed to marketing, and when you unsubscribed
  • Why we use it: To show we have permission to email you and to respect opt-outs
  • Lawful basis: Legal obligation and legitimate interests

We collect this information directly from you, apart from some technical data your browser sends automatically and information that Stripe gives us about your payment, such as whether it succeeded.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Marketing emails

We will only send you marketing emails if:

  • you have ticked a box or otherwise clearly agreed, for example when signing up for our free sample; or
  • you are an existing customer, we collected your details when you bought from us, we are only telling you about similar Study Hub products, and you were given a chance to opt out when you bought and in every message since.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to stop at any time at [privacy email address]. If you unsubscribe, we will keep your email on a suppression list so that we do not email you again by mistake.

Order emails, such as your download link, are not marketing. We will always send those.

4. Who we share your information with

We only share your information with organisations that help us run Study Hub, and only as far as needed:

  • Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe handles your payment details and fraud checks. Stripe is responsible for how it uses payment data under its own privacy policy.
  • GoDaddy, which hosts our website and shop.
  • GoDaddy, which sends our order and marketing emails.
  • GoDaddy, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Authorities, such as HMRC or law enforcement, if the law requires us to.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

5. Transfers outside the UK

Some of the organisations above, including Stripe, may process data outside the UK, for example in the EU or the United States. Where this happens, we rely on UK-approved safeguards, such as an adequacy decision, the UK data bridge or standard contractual clauses, and on the provider's data protection terms.

6. How long we keep your information

Order and payment records: 6 years from the end of the financial year, to meet tax and accounting rules.

Messages you send us: 2 years after the matter is closed.

Email sign-up details: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, plus a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again.

Reviews and testimonials: Until you ask us to remove them.

Website logs and analytics: 14 months or the period set by analytics tool

When we no longer need your information, we delete it securely.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device.

  • Essential cookies make the site and shop work, for example keeping items in your cart. These do not need your consent.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you agree through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using .

8. Keeping your information safe

We keep your information secure using sensible technical and organisational measures, such as password-protected accounts, secure hosting and restricting access to those who need it. Payments are handled by Stripe, so your full card details are never stored on our systems. No system is completely secure, and if there is a breach that puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your information in certain circumstances.
  • Object: object to our use of your information, including for direct marketing, which we will always stop if you ask.
  • Data portability: ask us to transfer information you gave us to you or another organisation, in certain circumstances.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything we did before.

To use any of these rights, email studyhubdesigns@gmail.com. You do not have to pay a fee. We will respond without undue delay and within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first, and in some cases the law lets us refuse or only partly meet a request. If so, we will explain why.

10. How to complain

If you have any concerns about how we use your personal information, please tell us first by emailing studyhubdesigns@gmail.com with the subject "Data protection complaint". We will confirm we have received your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay and tell you the outcome.

If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

  • Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
  • Helpline: 0303 123 1113
  • Address: ICO Head Office, 4th Floor, No.3 Circle Square, 5 Hawkshaw Street, Manchester, M1 7BL

11. Children

Study Hub is aimed at adults studying for professional qualifications. We do not knowingly collect information from children under ico.org. If you think a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other websites

Our website and social posts may link to other sites, such as the CII, Stripe or social media platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you, for example by a notice on our website or an email.

terms and conditions

Terms and Conditions

Study Hub Designs (“Study Hub”, “we”, “us”) Last updated: 18 October 2026

Please read these terms before you buy. By placing an order on our website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not order.

1. About us

Study Hub is  trading as Study Hub Designs.

You can contact us at studyhubdesigns@gmail.com We aim to reply within 2 working days.

2. What we sell

We sell digital revision materials for CII exams, including study plans, flashcards, mock exams and bundles of these. They are supplied as downloadable PDF files [or other formats: edit if needed]. No physical item is posted to you.

Study Hub is an independent business. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or any other awarding body. Our materials are not official CII materials. The practice questions are written in the style and format of the exams. They are not real exam questions.

3. Placing an order

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We accept your order when we send you your order confirmation email with your download link. A contract is formed at that point.

We may decline an order, for example if there is a pricing error, if we suspect fraud, or if a product is unavailable. If we decline after you have paid, we will refund you in full.

You must be 18 or over to buy from us, or have a parent or guardian’s permission.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (£). The price you see at checkout is the full price you will pay. We do not add any hidden fees.

Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe, our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details. Your payment is taken when you complete your order.

If we make an obvious pricing mistake, we may correct it. We will tell you before taking payment or, if you have already paid, offer you the choice of the correct price or a full refund.

5. Delivery

Delivery is by digital download. Your download link appears on the order confirmation page and is emailed to you straight after payment. If you do not receive it, please check your spam folder and then contact us at studyhubdesigns@gmail.com and we will resend it.

You are responsible for making sure your device can open PDF files. We recommend keeping a copy of your files safe once downloaded.

6. Your right to cancel and our refund policy

Your 14-day right to cancel. When you buy online from a UK trader, you normally have 14 days to cancel. For digital downloads, the law allows that right to be lost once the download begins, but only if you have first agreed to receive the download immediately and acknowledged that you will lose your right to cancel.

At checkout, we will ask you to confirm both of these two points by ticking a box: - you agree that we can supply your digital content immediately, and - you understand that, once the download has begun, you will lose your 14-day right to cancel.

If you do not give both confirmations, we will not begin the download during the 14-day period. If, in error, a download did begin without you giving them, you would keep your right to cancel and would not have to pay for what was supplied.

If there is a problem with your file. Your legal rights are not affected by anything in these terms. Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for the purpose you told us about, and as described. If a file does not meet this standard, for example it is corrupted, will not open, or is missing a part we described, please contact us. You are entitled to have it repaired or replaced within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. If a repair or replacement is not possible or does not solve the problem, you may be entitled to a price reduction, up to the full price. If a faulty file damages your device or other digital content, you may be entitled to a repair or compensation.

Our promise to you. Apart from your legal rights above, we do not offer refunds on digital downloads once the download has begun.

7. How you may use our materials

Our materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. We own all of these rights.

When you buy from us, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the files for your own study. This means you may: - download the files and store them on your own devices; - print them for your own use.

You must not: - share, give, lend, sell, resell, rent, upload or distribute the files to anyone else, including friends, colleagues, study groups, social media, file-sharing sites or marketplaces; - copy, reproduce, summarise, modify or republish any part of them; - use them for training or teaching others, or in any commercial context, without our written permission; - remove any copyright notice, branding or identifying marks.

If you share your files, we may withdraw your licence, and we may take action to protect our rights. Each file may be marked [or watermarked: delete if not true] to identify the purchaser.

If your employer or training provider wants to buy for several people, please contact us at [email address] for permission and pricing.

8. Using our materials responsibly

Our materials are revision aids. They are not a substitute for the official CII syllabus, exam guide or study text, and we do not include the CII study text. You should always check the current syllabus and exam format on the CII website before you sit your exam.

Each file shows the exam or tax year it was written for. Tax rates, allowances, laws and exam requirements change often, and our materials are based on publicly available information at the time they were written. You are responsible for checking that any figures or rules are still current before relying on them in an exam or in your work. Where we have updated a file for a later exam year, we will say so on the product page.

9. No guarantee of results

We work hard to make our materials accurate and useful, but we cannot promise that you will pass any exam or achieve any particular result. Your result depends on many things, including how you study and the exam itself.

Our materials are for study purposes only and are not professional, financial, tax, legal or regulatory advice. Do not use them to advise clients or make financial decisions.

10. Free sample packs and free materials

Free materials are supplied under the same licence as paid materials in section 7. We may change or withdraw free materials at any time. If you sign up to receive a free sample, how we use your email address is explained in our Privacy Policy. We will only send you marketing emails if you agree or, if you are an existing customer, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

11. Reviews and feedback

If you send us a review or testimonial, you agree that we may display it on our website and social media, with your first name or initials only unless you say otherwise. You can ask us to remove it at any time. We will only publish genuine reviews and will not edit them to change their meaning.

12. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, we are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. A loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of our breach or if you and we both knew it might happen when you made the contract.

We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable. Because our materials are supplied for your personal study only, we are not responsible for any loss of business, profit or opportunity, or for the consequences of relying on the materials in your work. Our total liability to you for any one order is limited to the price you paid for it, except where the law does not allow us to limit it.

13. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for any delay or failure to carry out our obligations if it is caused by something outside our reasonable control, for example a failure of the internet, payment systems, hosting or email services. If this happens, we will contact you and do what we reasonably can to supply your files as soon as possible.

14. Your personal information

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy at [link to privacy policy]. Please read it.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with your purchase or our service, please contact us first at [email address] and tell us what has gone wrong. We will try to resolve it quickly and fairly, and we will reply within 3 working days.

You may also be able to get help from Citizens Advice, which can be reached through its consumer helpline, or from your local Trading Standards office.

16. General

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in our products. The version that applies to your order is the one in force when you placed it.

Entire agreement. These terms, together with your order and our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about your purchase.

Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to another business, as long as this does not reduce your rights.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced. If a court decides that any part of these terms is not valid, the rest will continue to apply.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still do so later.

Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.
